Problem Note 54369: Clients connecting to SAS/CONNECT® or SAS/SHARE® 9.4 TS1M2 servers using cross-memory services abend with a system 0C4 error

A client connecting to a SAS 9.4 SAS/CONNECT or SAS/SHARE server might fail and return the following error:

ERROR: System abend 0C4 occurred outside of the SAS environment.

The problem occurs under the following circumstances:

The SAS/CONNECT or SAS/SHARE server is executing SAS 9.4 TS1M2
You are using a z/OS release earlier than 2.1, and
You connect to the server using Cross Memory Services (the SAS system option COMAMID is set to XMS)

To circumvent this problem, do one of the following:

Install SAS 9.4 TS1M2 under z/OS 2.1
Use TCP as the communication access method by setting the SAS system option COMAMID to TCP
