Problem Note 53851: Performance in SAS/ACCESS® Interface to Oracle is slow when you use the MULTI_DATASRC_OPT=IN_CLAUSE in a LIBNAME statement

DetailsHotfixAboutRate It

In SAS/ACCESS Interface to Oracle, when you use the MULTI_DATASRC_OPT=IN_CLAUSE option in a LIBNAME statement, you might notice slow performance. Ordinarily, this option can be used to improve performance, such as when you are processing a join between two data sources (for example, when joining a SAS data set with an Oracle table).

However, the MULTI_DATASRC_OPT=IN_CLAUSE has a 32-KB character limit for the list of values that can be passed to Oracle in an IN_Clause. As a result, when the character limit is exceeded, performance becomes slow.

To work around this issue, create a temporary Oracle table from a SAS data set and let Oracle process the join.
