Problem Note 53815: IBM Platform LSF creates a core dump when in the temporary work directory on the SAS® Grid Server

DetailsDownloadsAboutRate It

When you make connections to a SAS grid, a core dump might occur in the temporary work directory on the SAS Grid Server. This problem can occur when the server is a Linux host that has a kernel version that is higher than 3.0 and the Platform LSF Enterprise Grid Orchestrator is enabled.

To determine whether you are running the Linux kernel version in question, do the following:

  1. Source the LSF environment.
  2. Submit the following command:
    $LSF_SERVERDIR/vemkd -V
  3. Then, to determine whether the Enterprise Grid Orchestrator is enabled, look for the following line in the lsf.conf file that resides in the
    !LSF_TOP/CONF/ directory:
    LSF_ENABLE_EGO=Y

If you are running a kernel version of 3.0 or higher and the Enterprise Grid Orchestrator is enabled, you need to apply a fix. Click the Downloads tab in this note to obtain the fix.
