Problem Note 53676: Executing large macros from disk in the z/OS operating environment causes performance loss

Under z/OS, executing large macros from disk might cause excessive I/O use for the SASMACR catalog. This behavior causes a great loss in performance. One example of this performance loss is a 50% increase in CPU time when you execute macros from disk.
