Problem Note 53814: "Errors creating report" received when comparing multiple versions of SAS® Data Integration Studio objects

When you use version control in SAS Data Integration Studio to compare multiple versions of SAS Data Integration Studio objects, you might receive the following error in the Archived SAS Packages window:
Error creating report
An unexpected exception occurred while creating the object report.
An unexpected exception occurred while creating the object report.
If you are executing SAS Data Integration Studio in debug mode, you might receive this additional error:
ERROR com.sas.metadata.archive.CompareDialogPanel - An unexpected exception
occurred while creating the object report.
java.lang.NullPointerException at
com.sas.metadata.archive.CompreDialogPanel.onParentOK
occurred while creating the object report.
java.lang.NullPointerException at
com.sas.metadata.archive.CompreDialogPanel.onParentOK
The error is issued when you use the COMPARE function to examine an existing object in contrast to an archived object. The new object is created in the current SAS Data Integration Studio session.
As a workaround, you can exit the current SAS Data Integration Studio session and start a new session. Then, you can successfully compare your objects in the new session.
