Problem Note 53400: "Data Step error while attempting to Convert COMMUNICATION_UDF records" occurs when you publish a migrated campaign
A DATA step error similar to the following might occur when you publish SAS® Customer Intelligence campaigns that contain numeric list type user-defined fields (UDFs):
ERROR [CIAsyncExec-8] [11d1def534ea1be0:625db750:144767fb0b9:4fe5] [user-name]com.sas.analytics.crm.util.SystemCheck -
Error publishing. com.sas.analytics.crm.error.client.ApplicationException: Macro[MATRNUDF].
Data Step error while attempting to Convert COMMUNICATION_UDF records SQLRC[&sqlrc].
In earlier SAS Customer Intelligence releases, the numeric values were held in character fields in the reporting common data model (CDM) user-defined field tables (_UDF). However, with SAS Customer Intelligence 6.1 and later, the numeric values are held in numeric fields.
When the campaign is published against the migrated CDM, the publish process attempts to insert the numeric value into the character field in the _UDF table. This fails and generates the error.
To resolve this issue, convert the type _UDF fields that are associated with the numeric list values from character to numeric.
