Usage Note 53369: Using a LIBNAME statement to access the PostgreSQL database from SAS® Financial Management 5.4
When you try to access the PostgreSQL database in SAS Financial Management 5.4, certain options need to be set in a LIBNAME statement. Those parameters need to remain unchanged while you are accessing the PostgreSQL database.
The LIBNAME statement for the SASSDM library that is used by SAS Financial Management should look similar to the following:
libname sassdm postgres preserve_col_names=no preserve_tab_names=no database=sassdm server="host-name" port=9632 user=sassdmdbadm password="password";
To verify that these options are set as shown above:
- In SAS® Management Console, select Environment Management ► Data Library Manager ► Libraries.
- Right-click SASSDM and choose Show LIBNAME statement. Then compare the LIBNAME statement there to the example above.
If the PRESERVE_COL_NAMES= and PRESERVE_TAB_NAMES= options are not set correctly, you might encounter issues similar to the following if you use SAS® Data Integration Studio to load data into SAS Financial Management:
You can set the correct values for the PRESERVE_COL_NAMES= and PRESERVE_TAB_NAMES= options in SAS Management Console by selecting Properties ► Options ► Additional
Options ► Input/Output.
