If the password for internal SAS accounts such as sasadm@saspw or sastrust@saspw contains national characters, the SAS Deployment Wizard fails. National characters are "specific to a language as written in a nation or group of nations. For example, the letter "N" with a tilde (Ñ) is a Spanish character." (Definition taken from SAS^® 9.4 National Language Support (NLS): Reference Guide, Second Edition.) These characters do not include the Latin characters A-Z and a-z. So, if you have the password ÖÄSASpw1, the national characters are Ö and Ä. When you use a password with such characters, the deployment wizard fails during the Load Content stage. The following error is generated on the SAS Deployment Wizard Configuration Failure page:

The following problem was encountered while configuring SAS Web Infrastructure Platform: Load Content failed for: SAS Web Infrastructure Platform Unable to create an output stream writer

The associated configuration log (for example, webinfpltfm_loadContent_2014-06-25-14.31.23.log) displays the following errors:

Error 1:

java.io.IOException: Server returned HTTP response code: 401 for URL: http://sasbi:80/SASWIPClientAccess/rest/content/notificationLetterheads at sun.net.www.protocol.http.HttpURLConnection.getInputStream(HttpURLConnection.java:1625)

Error 2:

[echo] Unable to create an output stream writer [echo] Return Code: -2

These two errors appear in the log file before the standard BUILD FAILED message.

There is no solution or workaround for this problem. However, the problem is fixed in the second maintenance release of SAS 9.4 (TS1M2).
