Usage Note 53323: Accessing SAS® Data Integration Studio 4.4 Data Validation Error and Exception tables after you import a job into SAS® Data Integration Studio 4
In SAS Data Integration Studio 4.4, the Data Validation Error and Data Exception tables were defined in metadata as string objects that contain libref.tablename information about the table. Physical table objects in the metadata are not created.

In SAS Data Integration Studio 4.5, the Data Validation Error and Data Exception tables are defined in the metadata as physical tables. Accessing SAS Data Integration Studio 4.4 metadata about these tables and converting that information to physical tables in SAS Data Integration Studio 4.5 is a simple process.
Note: The following directions are specific to creating the Data Validation Error table but can also be applied to creating the Data Exception table.
- Import the SAS Data Integration Studio 4.4 job into SAS Data Integration Studio 4.5 (or later). Note the 2 additional table objects to the right of the Data Validation transformation.

- Open the Data Validation transformation and click the Error and Exception Tables tab.
- Select Create error table for the table that you want to create. Do not select Replace error table.

- Click OK. The following dialog box is displayed:

When Create error table is selected in an earlier step, a physical table is created, but not before the program checks to see whether an error table already exists. In this instance, an error table named SASHLP.DV4_4_ERROR_TABLE is currently defined. By clicking Yes in the dialog box, a physical table object for the error table is defined in metadata.
Click Yes.
- Go to the Error Records Table icon on the desktop and select Properties ► Physical Storage. Define the name and library of the current error table. The prior table name is now defined as a physical table in the metadata and is accessible to the SAS Data Integration Studio 4.5 job.
