Problem Note 52867: Publishing a model returns "ERROR: A character operand was found in the %EVAL function or %IF condition where a numeric operand is required"

In SAS® Model Manager, publishing a model to a database might return the following error message:
The error occurs because the path separator that is used on UNIX machines is the same symbol as the division operator in SAS.
To work around this issue, use the %NRSTR function when you specify the directory location for temporary scoring files. The directory is specified in SAS® Management Console. To modify this directory specification, follow these steps:
- Open SAS Management Console.
Go to Application Management ► Configuration Manager ► Application Infrastructure ► Model Manager JavaSvcs. Right-click and choose Properties ► Settings tab ► In-Database Options.
Select the Directory for temporary scoring files option. Change the directory to %nrstr(<directory>).
Example
The directory that is listed shows /home/sas/files. To work around the problem, specify the directory this way:
%nrstr(/home/sas/files)Click OK.
- Restart the services.
