Problem Note 52144: A majority of sales might be dropped by the imputation process when a size only is stocked and sold at a small number of stores
In SAS® Size Profiling, the imputation process is unable to impute sales for inactive product locations. The product location status for a size at a store is considered inactive when the following are true:
- The model_gp_status job is used to generate the product location status.
- The size is not stocked and sold at a store.
- Only a small number of stores sell the size.
In this situation, the majority of sales for other sizes that are sold at these stores are dropped.
There is no workaround for this issue.
Click the Hot Fix tab in this note to access the hot fix for this issue.
After you apply the fix, a new PRF_CONFIG setting called MGPS_ACTIVATE_ALL_SIZES is available to specify what sizes should be considered active based on sales. If an active status is generated for stores that did not sell those sizes, then the sales for the other sizes sold at these stores are not dropped. See the "Hot Fix Updates" section of the SAS® Size Profiling 3.2 Reference Guide for additional details about the MGPS_ACTIVATE_ALL_SIZES setting.
