Problem Note 52980: The SAS® Web Infrastructure Platform Data Server might fail to configure and returns a "no error" message
The SAS Web Infrastructure Platform Data Server might fail to configure when setting up the Postgres database.
The webinfdsvrc_configure_date-time.log might show the following:
[exec] initdb: could not execute command
""C:/Program Files/SASHome/SASWebInfrastructurePlatformDataServer/9.4/bin/postgres.exe" --boot -x1 -F ": No error
[exec] initdb: removing data directory "C:/SAS/Config/Lev1/WebInfrastructurePlatformDataServer/data"
[exec] Result: 1
This issue can occur if the Users group on the machine does not have Read and Execute permissions for cmd.exe.
As part of the configuration of the Postgres database, initdb.exe runs as a normal user with privileges that are the same as those defined by the Users group on the machine. The initdb.exe process calls cmd.exe. If the Users group is denied access to cmd.exe, then initdb.exe is unable to access cmd.exe.
To correct this issue, grant the Users group Read and Execute permissions for cmd.exe and then select Retry in the SAS Deployment Wizard. Once the SAS Deployment Wizard has finished successfully, you can remove the Read and Execute permissions from cmd.exe for the Users group.
