Problem Note 52770: Microsoft SQL Server GUID data type values are truncated when you run a Unicode (UTF-8) SAS® session
Running a Unicode SAS session (UTF-8 encoding), leads to truncation of GUID (globally unique identifier) data type values when the values are read from Microsoft SQL Server with SAS/ACCESS® Interface to OLE DB.
The behavior is seen with SAS® 9.4 and SAS® 9.3M2 with Hot Fix K96001 or K96002 applied.
The following warning is written to the SAS log:
WARNING: During read: Data truncated for column the_GUID
The GUID is read as "{CDEF7890-ABCD-123" instead of "{CDEF7890-ABCD-1234-ABCD-1234567890AB}".
