Usage Note 51812: The percent sign (%) is stripped out when it is included in an ODS TEXT= statement in the ODS HTML destination
The percent sign (%) is stripped out when it is included in an ODS TEXT= statement in the ODS HTML destination. The percent sign and the character immediately following it are stripped from the text that is generated. This problem occurs with the ODS MSOffice2K destination as well.
To circumvent this issue, add the percent sign twice in the ODS TEXT= statement. This displays the character as intended.
The example code below retains the "%2" in text string that is generated using the ODS TEXT= statement.
ods html body="c:\temp.html";
ods text='First %%2 Second %%2 Third %%2 more text';
proc print data=sashelp.class;
run;
ods html close;
