Problem Note 51827: Using the SAS® XML Mapper to read XML files that contain missing namespaces might generate data sets containing zero observations
Using the SAS® XML Mapper to read XML files that contain at least one empty namespace might generate data sets containing zero observations. This is most likely to occur when using the XMLV2 LIBNAME engine. The data is displayed correctly when viewed in the SAS XML Mapper. However, no observations are generated when the file is read into SAS®.
An example of an empty namespace is shown below:

To circumvent the problem, create the map file using the SAS® 9.2 version of the SAS XML Mapper.
