Problem Note 51552: Performing a "Send To" from SAS® Enterprise Guide to Excel leads to errors when the applications are published in a Citrix server farm
When you attempt to use the Send To feature in SAS Enterprise Guide to send results to Excel, errors might occur if the two applications are published in a Citrix server farm that uses load balancing.
In SAS Enterprise Guide, when you select File ► Send To and select Excel, you might see this error or something similar:
The error occurs because the load-balancing feature within Citrix causes SAS Enterprise Guide and Excel to launch on different servers in the Citrix Server farm.
Workaround
To work around this issue, do the following to ensure that both applications are opening on the same server:
- Start SAS Enterprise Guide but do not do any work.
- Then start Microsoft Excel.
- Once you have done this, perform your functions in SAS Enterprise Guide and then use the Send To feature.
