An SQLPLAN error might occur when you perform a query against a DBMS table and at least one of the columns contain a LENGTH= modifier. The error might look similar to the following:

 ERROR: sqlplan internal error: Cannot find symbol MYVAR, var=5, tag=0001.
 This message can be caused by attempting to make correlated references between
 two different items on a single FROM clause.

To work around the issue, do one of the following:

• Remove the LENGTH= modifier from the query.
• Or create SAS^® data sets for the DBMS tables and run the query against the SAS data sets.
