Problem Note 50314: A data integrity issue might occur if the NWAY is not compacted when you build a SAS® OLAP cube that uses shared dimensions

DetailsHotfixAboutRate It

When you build a SAS OLAP cube that uses a shared dimension, the NWAY is not always compacted. When the NWAY is not compacted, the wrong measures are returned if the NWAY is used to satisfy a query.

The only way to identify that this problem has been encountered is to manually validate the query results. Data discrepancies should be easily identifiable.

As a workaround, if your cube includes shared dimensions, withhold at least one record when you build the cube for the first time. Then, perform an incremental update that loads the withheld record or records. When you perform these tasks, the measures are summarized correctly, and the cube displays the correct values when queried.

Note: If you see the following warning in the log after applying the hot fix, rebuild the shared dimension.

Warning: The version of SAS used to build the shared "%*s" is one that might
have missed the need to compact the NWAY. NWAY aggregations that need compacting
can affect performance when being queried. For this reason, consider rebuilding
      this shared dimension.
