Problem Note 50277: SAS® Metadata Server alert e-mail fails with the message "An attempt to send an ALERT EMAIL to 'userid@domain.com' has resulted in ''"
If your e–mail server requires that you authenticate when you send e–mail, the SAS® Metadata Server is unable to successfully send an alert e– mail message. Attempting to send an alert e–mail results in a message similar to the following that appears in the SAS Metadata Server log:
An attempt to send an ALERT EMAIL to 'userid@domain.com' has resulted in ''.
