Usage Note 50015: Directing SAS® OLAP Server journal logs to a specific file in SAS® 9.3
In SAS 9.2 and earlier, the SAS OLAP Server creates journal files by default in the application server directory. The files have a name similar to SSNJnnnnn, where nnnnn is a numeric suffix. Beginning with SAS 9.3, the SAS OLAP Server directs journal logging to the SAS OLAP Server general log. Depending on what logging options you have enabled, including journal content in the general log can easily generate a lot of extra information.
To direct your journal content to a different, separate file, add the following content to the logconfig.xml that is located in the SAS OLAP Server directory:
<appender name="DEBUG" class="FileAppender">
<param name="fileNamePattern" value="C:\SAS\EntBIServer\Lev1\SASApp\OLAPServer\Logs\debug_%d_%S{pid}.log"/>
<param name="ImmediateFlush" value="True"/>
<param name="Append" value="True"/>
<layout>
<param name="ConversionPattern" value="%d %-5p [%t] %X{Client.ID}:%u - %m"/>
</layout>
</appender>
<logger name="App.OLAP.DEBUG" additivity="false">
<level value="Debug"/>
<appender-ref ref="DEBUG"/>
</logger>
You can specify the file location (or edit for a UNIX path), as well as the name of the file. In this example, the name of the file is "debug" with the date and PID appended to the end.
