Usage Note 50699: A new data set option enables you to transfer data in binary format from the database
CHAR_AS_BINARY is a new data set option introduced in SAS® 9.4. This new option enables you to change the type of any character to binary when you read the data from the database.
The default value of CHAR_AS_BINARY is NO.
