Usage Note 50663: When you use the sas.servers script to start all SASĀ® servers as UNIX processes, the script reports that the metadata server did not start
When you use the sas.servers script file to start all SAS servers as UNIX processes, the script might report that the SAS® Metadata Server did not start. The metadata server log might not show any errors.
In this situation, reissue the command sas.servers start. When you reissue the command, the script will recognize that the SAS Metadata Server is running. The remaining servers then start successfully.
The problem occurs because the script does not wait long enough to receive the indication from the metadata server that it has fully started.
