Usage Note 50658: "Unreadable content" errors occur and empty Excel tables appear when you open Excel files that were created by the ExcelCS driver
The problem occurs when you open Excel tables that were created by the EXCELCS driver using the EXPORT procedure or the PCFILES engine using the LIBNAME statement.
The SAS® logs look normal and your SAS session run without errors, but the Excel files are smaller than would be expected.
The problem occurs when the amount of disk space on the Windows System drive (the C drive, typically) is very low. The Microsoft ODBC driver, which the SAS® PC Files server calls, creates temporary files on this disk, and there is not enough space to complete the process.
To resolve the problem, increase the amount of disk space that is available on the Windows System drive.

For software releases that are not yet generally available, the Fixed
Release is the software release in which the problem is planned to be
fixed.
Empty Excel files are created when you export data to XLSB and other files using the SAS PC Files Server with DBMS=EXCELCS. The problem occurs when there is low space on the Windows System drive (normally, the C drive).
