Usage Note 50001: "Metadata cannot be cast" error might occur when you test a query in SAS® Information Map Studio 4.2_M2 or earlier
You cannot use SAS Information Map Studio 4.2_M2 or earlier to work with SAS® 9.3 metadata. Although the connection to the SAS® Metadata Server might be successful, you will see one of the following errors when you attempt to test a query.
com.sas.util.ChainedException: The application encountered a problem while it was running a test query.

Contact your system administrator for assistance in installing the version of SAS Information Map Studio that shipped with the 9.3 version of SAS® Enterprise BI Server or SAS® BI Server.
