SAS^® Strategic Vision 1.2 has an additional setinit file other than the one required by the SAS^® System. For Strategic Vision, the setinit file is named setinit.sas. which is a different name than the setinit file used for SAS^® 8 (8TS2M0). SAS 8 (8TS2M0) uses the setinit.sss filename.

The setinit.sas file used by SAS Strategic Vision is located in the \strategic vision\1.2 directory. The setinit does not need to be applied to the system. It needs to reside in the 1.2 directory.

Note: The Strategic Vision setinit and the SAS setinit must both be updated when necessary. The two setinits are different and need to be applied to the correct locations.

The setinit file for SAS^®Strategic Performance Management 1.4 needs to reside in the directory that contains map.exe. The default directory location is:

The setinit.sas file for SAS Strategic Performance Management must contain the SAS Strategic Performance Management software information to authorize your use of SAS Strategic Performance Management.

SAS Strategic Performance Management has two parts:

• the SAS Strategic Performance Management client interface.
• the Warehouse add-on

For the SAS Strategic Performance Management client software, the setinit that contains only two products (Base SAS^® software and SAS Strategic Performance Management) is placed in the map directory. The other setinit is applied to the SAS installation, which is used to process data that can then be read by the SAS Strategic Performance Management client software. The primary piece of software provided with the SAS installation is the Warehouse add-on, which is used to generates XML files for use by SAS Strateguc Performance Management.
