Problem Note 49604: Too many connections are made to the Netezza database and these connections are not being dropped or reused when no longer needed

DetailsHotfixAboutRate It

SAS/ACCESS® Interface to Netezza generates too many connections to Netezza, especially when constructing query nodes in SAS® Enterprise Guide®. The Netezza connections are not released until SAS terminates. As a result, users might run out of available connections and the Netezza database might become inaccessible to other systems or users.

The following error message might occur when you use CONNECTION=UNIQUE (default setting), if you have exceeded the connection limit that is set on the Netezza database.
[Error] CLI error trying to establish connection: The permitted number of client connections(510) has been exceeded
To resolve this issue, increase the connection limit on the Netezza database. Use SHARED, SHAREDREAD, GLOBAL, or GLOBALREAD if you do not have the need to display large tables in grid-like fashion.
