Problem Note 49473: Maximum store quantity might be violated
In SAS® Pack Optimization, the maximum number of units to allocate to a store might be violated.
This issue occurs when the global setting FORCE_ALLOCATION_QTY is set to 1, meaning that the Allocation Quantity is used to determine the ideal quantity of units to allocate to stores.
The following WARNING appears in the stored-process server log:
WARNING: Pack Optimization has violated a constraint. Output includes ## of pack <ID> when NUM_PACK_MAX was ##.
There are two possible workarounds for this issue:
-
Set the global setting FORCE_ALLOCATION_QTY to zero. This allows SAS® Pack Optimization to determine the ideal quantity of units to allocate to stores, remaining within the minimum and maximum pack quantity constraints.
-
Manually adjust the quantity of the pack exceeding the maximum pack quantity constraint by 1.
