Usage Note 49808: The message "Internet Explorer has modified this page to help prevent cross-site scripting" is displayed when you try to open a window
In SASĀ® Merchandise Allocation, a window might fail to open, and the following message is displayed:
Internet Explorer has modified this page to help prevent cross-site scripting.
This problem is NOT the result of an issue in SAS Merchandise Allocation. The problem originates in Microsoft Internet Explorer 8. The message is displayed because of some security options for the Enable XSS filter security setting in Internet Explorer 8. These options might prevent additional windows from opening (for example, the window that is displayed when you use the filter option in SAS Allocation Management) from opening.
To prevent this message, specify the following Internet Explorer 8 Internet Options for the Enable XSS filter setting:
- Local Internet = Disable
- Internet = Enable
- Trusted Sites = Disable, if the Application URL is listed in the trusted sites
Based on Microsoft support recommendations, for security reasons this option should be enabled for any application that is running on the Internet. You an disable this option for Local Internet (intranet).
