The SAS Marketing Automation Administrators' Guide, before SAS® Marketing Automation 6.1, does not detail use of SAS Promotion Tools for importing and exporting objects, and only provides details of the more complex Marketing Automation Integration Utilities. The SAS Promotion Tools have been available since SAS® 9.2 and SAS Marketing Automation 5.3.
In the SAS Marketing Automation 6.1 Administrators' Guide, the following reference is made to using the SAS Promotion Tools:
Extract and import campaigns, and other SAS Marketing Automation objects as needed, by using either the Integration Utilities for SAS Customer Intelligence, or the SAS Promotion Tools. For more information about SAS Promotion Tools, see “Using the Promotion Tools” in SAS 9.3 Intelligence Platform: System Administration Guide.
The SAS Promotion Tools should be used when possible.
