Problem Note 49015: Wide variances might occur between allocation quantity and pack results
In SAS® Pack Optimization, you might notice wide variances between the allocation quantity in SAS® Merchandise Allocation and the pack quantity results at the store level.
This issue occurs when the following are true:
-
You have loose pack constraints. That is, you might hold back inventory at the warehouse and SAS® Pack Optimization is given a loose constraint of between 0 and N packs to allocate.
-
The distribution of sizes in the packs do not closely match the distribution of sizes at the stores.
There are no errors or warnings, and there is no workaround for this problem.
