Usage Note 48897: The error "Unable to sort by specified column" is displayed when you save or select a view in SAS® Enterprise GRC
When you save or select a view in SAS Enterprise GRC, the following error message might be displayed:
Unable to sort by specified column
The error message is displayed because a table in the view is configured to hide the default sort column. A table cannot be sorted by a hidden column.
Workarounds
To prevent the error message before you save a view: Specify a sort column that is not hidden. Then set the sort column either by clicking a column heading in the table or by specifying a sort column in the table customization XML file. For example, the following line in the table customization XML file causes the table to be sorted by the opRiskEventId column in descending order:
field name="opRiskEventId" orderBy="desc"/
To prevent the error message for a saved view: First, select the view with the error message. Then specify a sort column by clicking a column heading in the table and save the view again using the same view name.
