Problem Note 48894: Creating a new project gives an authorization error, opening an existing project gives an authentication domain error

DetailsHotfixAboutRate It

When you create or open a project in SAS® Enterprise Miner™, the following problems might occur:

  • Create a new project

You are not authorized to create a folder at this location

The Create New Project wizard takes you back to Step 2 of 4.

  • Open an existing project
The user <username> could not log on to the server <workspace server>.
No Valid identity could be found for the authentication domain <customAuth>.

The above errors occur when these two sets of credentials differ:

  • the credentials that are used by the user ID that logs on to SAS Enterprise Miner workspace server
  • the credentials that are used to log on to SAS Enterprise Miner

You can verify the credentials that are used by logging on to SAS® Management Console as "unrestricted user." Under the Plugins tab, navigate to Users ► <user id>. Right-click Properties. Click the Accounts tab. Under Accounts, entries for the different authentication domains are displayed.

To work around this problem, go to SAS Management Console for the user ID's account. Hardcode the password for the Authentication Domain that corresponds to the workspace server.

Click the Hot Fix tab in this note to access the hot fix for this issue.
