When you use the LDAPS_OPEN CALL routine to connect to a Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) server, you might receive this error:
The LDAPS_OPEN CALL routine has a built–in time–out threshold of 30 seconds. If the LDAP server does not respond to the CALL routine within that time, the error occurs.
Click the Hot Fix tab in this note to access the hot fix for this issue. This hot fix enables you to increase the time–out threshold for the LDAP server connection. After installing the hot fix, you can extend the time-out limit beyond 30 seconds by setting either the LDAP_TIMEOUT environment variable or the LDAP_TIMEOUT SAS macro variable to a value larger than 30. The value of LDAP_TIMEOUT must be an integer greater than zero. If you use the LDAP_TIMEOUT macro variable to extend the threshold, any value greater than 9,999,999 will be treated as 30 seconds.
