Problem Note 48111: PROC SURVEYMEANS may produce incorrect variance estimates with poststratification
When poststratification is done in PROC SURVEYMEANS using the POSTSTRATA statement, the following conditions can produce incorrect variance estimates and related statistics:
the default VARMETHOD=TAYLOR method is used, a CLUSTER statement is not specified, and with or without a STRATA statement specified
the default VARMETHOD=TAYLOR method is used, a DOMAIN statement is specified and a categorical analysis variable is specified on the VAR statement
a replication method is specified with VARMETHOD=BRR or VARMETHOD=JK and the REPWEIGHTS statement is specified
a replication method is specified with VARMETHOD=BRR or VARMETHOD=JK and a RATIO statement is specified
- a categorical analysis variable that has one or more missing values is specified on the VAR statement

For software releases that are not yet generally available, the Fixed
Release is the software release in which the problem is planned to be
fixed.
The variance estimates and related statistics are wrong in most cases when the POSTSTRATA statement is specified in PROC SURVEYMEANS. A Hot Fix addresses this issue.
