Problem Note 48884: java.lang.NullPointerException errors occur with the Interactive Grouping and Interactive Binning nodes
When you perform interactive training in the SAS® Enterprise Miner™ Interactive Grouping or Interactive Binning node, java.lang.NullPointerException errors might occur.

ERROR: A character operand was found in the %EVAL function or %IF condition

ERROR: The macro TRAIN will stop executing.
The errors occur when the target variable contains missing values in the underlying data set.
To work around the problem, delete observations that have a missing value for the target variable (those observations are not used anyway). Note that using a SAS Code node to create an &EM_EXPORT_TRAIN source by setting an &EM_IMPORT_DATA source does not work around the problem. You must delete the observations from the underlying SAS data set, or create a new SAS data set that is a subset. Then create a new data source that points to the data set.
