Running a query against a database management system (DBMS) table might result in slower performance. The problem occurs if a variable is being renamed in the SQL procedure query.

In some instances, the original name rather than the new name is used in the query. As a result, you might see a DBMS error pertaining to a column not existing. The entire query cannot be passed, due to the wrong column name. SAS might resort to pulling the entire table into SAS, causing the query to take more time to run than it would have taken had the entire query been passed down to the DBMS.

There is no workaround for this issue.
