Problem Note 48680: Hard bounces are not always recorded as a failed contact in the contact history
When SAS® Digital Marketing e-mails that are associated with a SAS® Customer Intelligence campaign are returned because of a hard bounce, the contact history should be updated to reflect the failed contact. This does not occur if the Reply Manager cannot correlate the e-mail address in the bounce notification e-mail with that from the original broadcast.
For example, if an e-mail was sent to first.lastname@domain.com and the bounce e-mail returns with a notification that first.lastname@domain.com<mailto:first.lastname@domain.com> is an unknown e-mail address, then the Reply Manager will not be able to correlate the two addresses. Without this correlation SAS Digital Marketing cannot identify the correct contact history record to update.
