Problem Note 48529: SPDE may delete a data set if foreign software opens SPDE data file
Prior to SAS 9.4, when the SPD Engine attempts to write to a SPDE owned file, if the file is locked by a non-SAS program, SAS determined that the file was damaged and deleted it.
Beginning in 9.4 SAS will loop for 20 seconds waiting for the file to be closed and freed before removing the file.
A Hotfix is available for SAS 9.3M2 to add this same behavior.

For software releases that are not yet generally available, the Fixed
Release is the software release in which the problem is planned to be
fixed.
If a foreign software, something other than SAS, has a lock on a SPDE data set when SPDE needs it, the data set is deleted.
