Problem Note 48325: The Ratemaking node gives "Run time error was encountered ...", "The variable named P_ name contains more than 32 characters" errors
When you run the Ratemaking node in SAS® Enterprise Miner™, the node might fail with the following error:
Run time error was encountered. Please see the log for more details.
The Ratemaking node log shows this error:
ERROR: The variable named P_variable contains more than 32 characters.
In the error, variable is the Target variable. The node prepends the characters "P_" to the Target variable name in order to create the predicted-variable name. The problem occurs when the length of the Target variable name exceeds 30 characters. The length of the resulting predicted-variable name exceeds 32 characters.
To work around the problem, rename your Target variable so that it contains fewer than 30 characters.
