Usage Note 48283: How to display results from a prompted SAS® Stored Process in the SAS® Information Delivery Portal without opening up a separate browser window
When running a prompted SAS Stored Process from the SAS Information Delivery
Portal, a separate browser window is opened to display the output
because the SAS Information Delivery Portal uses a parameter setting saved in
metadata. This note explains how to make the output display in the same
window in which the prompts are displayed.
- Make a current backup of your metadata. Although you will be modifying only one value, making any change to your metadata is a high-risk task.
- On your SAS server machine, launch an interactive session of Base SAS®.
- In the SAS command box, type
metabrowse
, and then press ENTER.
- In the Metadata Server Configuration dialog box, enter your connection information using an unrestricted administrative account such as sasadm@saspw. Click OK to open the Metadata Browser window.
- Place the metadata in edit mode by performing the following tasks.
- Select Tools ► Options ► Explorer.
- Click the Metadata tab, and then select Unhide All.
- Click the General tab, and then deselect Metadata Browse Mode.
- Click OK.
- In the Metadata Browser window, navigate to Foundation ► ServiceComponent ► STPRunParameters ► PropertySets ► Directive ► SetProperties and then select uri to display the attributes of the uri property on the right.
- Double-click DefaultValue to open the Modify Value dialog box. Carefully edit the value to remove the
newwindow
portion of the value. The modified value should then look like
/do?_action=form,properties,execute,nobanner
Note: This is a global change to the default functionality of STPRunParameters that will affect all stored processes that are executed in this way.
- Click OK to save the changes.
- Return the metadata to browse mode by performing the following tasks.
- Select Tools ► Options ► Explorer.
- Click the General tab, and then select Metadata Browse Mode.
- Click OK.
- Restart the web application server that is used by SAS Information Delivery Portal.
