Problem Note 48187: The Unallocated column label in the Activity Budget Report is misleading
In the SAS® Marketing Operations Management Strategic Planner, the Budgets tab of the View Plans group field shows a column label Unallocated, as shown in the following example:
In this example, the Unallocated amount of $126,000 is calculated by taking the planned amount at the program level and subtracting the planned amounts at the channel level.
The Activity Budget Report is available from a link in the Reports field. This report also includes a column labeled Unallocated. This report is large and a display of the upper left corner is shown below.
A display of the top middle section of the report is shown below.
In this example, the value of the Unallocated column is $150,000.
The Unallocated amount in the Activity Budget Report is calculated by taking the planned amount at the program level and subtracting the allocated amount at the plan level.
The calculations are correct. However, a better column label for the Activity Budget Report is Available to Spend. This is planned to be changed in a future software release.

Release is the software release in which the problem is planned to be
fixed.
A better label is "Available to Spend."
