Problem Note 48118: Some IS8601 formats do not honor the MISSING= system option
Formats B8601DT/E8601DT and B8601DZ/E8601DZ ignore the MISSING= system option setting when outputting missing numeric values. Instead of outputting the value assigned to the option, a period is output.

For software releases that are not yet generally available, the Fixed
Release is the software release in which the problem is planned to be
fixed.
This code illustrates that the MISSING= system option setting isn't honored by the format. Instead of writing a space for the numeric variable, a period is output instead.

x=.;
format x e8601dt.;
proc print;

A period is output for X instead of a space.
