Problem Note 47294: Customized metadata column descriptions might be lost when you read data from a database management system (DBMS) table with the META LIBNAME engine

Customized metadata column descriptions might disappear when you do both of the following:
- You modify the description of a column for a DBMS table in the SAS® Metadata Repository.
- Subsequently, you access that table using the META LIBNAME engine.
Whether this problem will occur depends on how the SAS® System internally formulates the SQL query that is passed to the underlying database.
Currently, there is no solution or workaround for this problem other than to download the hot fix.
