Usage Note 47286: How to enable SAS® Enterprise Miner(tm) 6.x Client logging
You can enable logging for a SAS Enterprise Miner 6.x Client by following these instructions. The instructions apply if you start SAS Enterprise Miner using paths similar to this: Start programs ► SAS ► Analytics ► SAS Enterprise Miner Client.
If you are launching SAS Enterprise Miner using Java Web Start (JWS), then you can enable logging and tracing by following instructions in this SAS KB0036243, "How to enable logging when SAS® Enterprise Miner™ 6.x, 7.x, is launched from Java Web Start (JWS)".

Navigate to the <SAS-CONFIG>\AnalyticsPlatform\apps\EnterpriseMiner\bin folder where <SAS-CONFIG> is located.
"C:\SAS\<PlanName>\Lev#"
Possible values of <PlanName> are "Eminer", "EMTM" or "EMDesktop".
- Back up (copy and rename) the existing "em.ini" file.

Edit the "emi.ini" file. Use an editor other than Notepad to preserve the formatting. Modify the value of the parameter "applogloc=" so that it points to a location where you want to write the "emClient.log" file. Example:
applogloc=C:\temp\emClient.log
- Make sure that you have Read and Write permission to the location where the emClient.log file is written.

After making this modification, re-create the problem in SAS Enterprise Miner. The "emClient.log" file should be generated in the specified location.
