Problem Note 47285: Null values might be appended to the end of VARCHAR variables when data is retrieved from DB2 in the z/OS operating environment
Variables that are defined as type VARCHAR in a DB2 database might have null values &$40;'00'x&$41; instead of blank spaces ('40'x) appended to the end of the value. This problem occurs when you use SAS/ACCESS® Interface to DB2 to read the data into the SAS® System under z/OS. This behavior results in a different value in SAS than what is stored originally in DB2.
