Usage Note 47237: Installing the SAS® 9.3 TS1M2 version of the SAS® PC Files Server on top of the SAS® 9.3 TS1M1 version of the SAS® PC Files Server
To install the SAS 9.3 TS1M2 version of the SAS PC Files Server where the SAS 9.3 TS1M1 version is already present, do the following.
Note: You do not need to remove the existing SAS PC Files Server from your system.
- First, ensure that the SAS PC Files Server is running as a service:
- Select Start ► Settings ► Control Panel.
- Select Administrative Tools.
- Select Services.
- Locate the SAS PC Files Server, right-click the service and select Start.
- Now, get the new version of the SAS PC Files Server: Navigate to the SUPPORT DOWNLOADS & HOT FIXES web page.
- Click SAS PC Files Server and then click SAS PC Files Server (Release 9.3 - August 2012).

Confirm which version of Microsoft Office you have. Then select the version of the PC Files Server that matches your version of Microsoft Office:
If you are running a 32-bit version of Microsoft Office, download the Windows package. This is the most common selection.

Select the 64-bit SAS PC Files Server only if you have a 64-bit version of Microsoft Office.
- After you have downloaded the .zip file that contains the setup.exe file, unzip the file to a directory of your choice.
- Click the setup.exe file. The following dialog box appears:
- Make sure that SAS is not running and then click Next.
- SAS is computing the amount of available disk space. Click Next.
- If the SAS PC Files Service is running, the following dialog box appears. In the dialog box, click Start.
- If the SAS PC Files Service is not started, this dialog box is displayed:
In this case, return to Step 1, above, select the service, and make sure that it is started.
