Usage Note 47105: "Unreadable content" errors occur when you export files using the XLSX driver
"Unreadable content" errors occur when you open Excel files that were created by the XLSX driver. The problem occurs when 26 or more columns are exported.
To circumvent the problem, do one of the following:
- Specify DBMS=EXCELCS. You need to have the SAS® PC Files Server installed to use this driver.
- If you are using a 64-bit version of the Windows system, install the 64-bit version of Microsoft Office and then use DBMS=EXCEL to export to an Excel file. On a Windows 32-bit system, you can use DBMS=EXCEL normally without any installation of software.
- Use DBMS=TAB or DBMS=CSV to create text files that can be imported into Excel.

For software releases that are not yet generally available, the Fixed
Release is the software release in which the problem is planned to be
fixed.
When you export more than 26 columns to Excel with the XLSX driver, you receive "unreadable content" errors when the Excel file is opened.
