Incorrect results might be returned when you use implicit pass-through on SAS/ACCESS 9.2 or later. The problem is not seen on SAS/ACCESS^® Interface to Oracle, SAS/ACCESS^® Interface to Teradata, or SAS/ACCESS^® Interface to DB2 on z/OS, nor does it occur with explicit pass-through.

The issue occurs when the last field of a SELECT statement contains a numeric or date value and is accessed from a SELECT statement of a LEFT JOIN. However, the results are correct under any of the following conditions:

• the last field contains a character value
• the SELECT statement is reordered so that a non-left join variable occurs last
• the last variable in the result is from a normal inner join.
