Problem Note 47003: SAS® Digital Marketing might stop processing replies

DetailsHotfixAboutRate It

SAS Digital Marketing uses the E-mail Reply Manager to process replies. If the system encounters problems with closing the reply Inbox, then the E-mail Reply Manager cleanup activity for deleting the expired messages does not occur. You might see an error message that is similar to the following in the log files:

INFO   | jvm 1    | 2012/04/20 12:34:29 | javax.mail.MessagingException:
Exception deleting messages during close;

The failure to delete expired messages can cause a large buildup of messages in the reply Inbox, which can cause new messages to be rejected. When this happens, SAS Digital Marketing stops processing replies. Then you might see an error message that is similar to the following in the log files:

java.io.IOException: The requested operation could not be completed due to a file system limitation

Ensure that the memory settings, disk space, and file system limitations are adequate. Contact SAS Technical Support for further advice. You must apply the hot fix so that the deletion of messages can occur independently of the closure of the Inbox.

Click the Hot Fix tab in this note to access the hot fix for this issue.

A hot fix for SAS Digital Marketing 5.3 is available upon request from SAS Technical Support.
