Problem Note 47847: Effect estimates might not be constrained correctly when the DEMAND_MODEL_TYPE=SHARE and there are interaction effects in the model
Effect estimates in the SCORING_PARAM table might not be constrained correctly in the SAS® Revenue Optimization Suite. Specifically, the effect estimates might not be constrained correctly when the DIRECT_MODEL_TYPE=SHARE and there are interaction effects present in the model.
For example, consider the following:
- In the MODEL_SPEC table, PRICE_TSF=2.
- In the SCORING_PARAM_DEFAULT table where TSF_TYPE=1, EFFECT_EST_L=-10 and EFFECT_EST_U=-4.
- In the SCORING_PARAM_DEFAULT table where TSF_TYPE=2, EFFECT_EST_L=-6 and EFFECT_EST_U=-2.
- In one of the scoring parameter partition tables, there is a geo-prod that has an EFFECT_EST=-10.
The effect estimate value of -10 is incorrect. The effect estimate should have a value of -6 because it should be constrained by the bounds in the SCORING_PARAM_DEFAULT table where TSF_TYPE=2. However, the effect estimate is incorrectly constrained by the bounds in the SCORING_PARAM_DEFAULT table where TSF_TYPE=1.
There is no workaround for this issue.
